Orla Kiely's London Fashion Week presentations are always a real highlight of the fashion month calendar, offering a refreshingly unusual take on the traditional catwalk show. From the dreamy tea dance which they hosted at Somerset House a few seasons ago to the beautiful campaign videos which showcase each of their collections so beautifully, Orla Kiely as a brand is one which really brings a theatrical flavour to fashion. Blurring the lines between fashion show and performance once again, this London Fashion Week they showcased their AW13 pieces against the backdrop of Elms Lesters Painting Rooms, perfectly transformed into a Mad Men era typing pool for the occasion:

As well as featuring a spectrum of 60s inspired
silhouettes throughout, the AW13 collection incorporated a really
refreshing array of colours, most notably sunshine yellows and bold
fuschia pinks- perfect for carrying the spirit of summer through to
the autumn. The cast of models were beautifully beehived, capturing the
vintage inspired elegance which has become so synonymous with the Orla
Kiely aesthetic, with slightly undone styling illustrating that this is a
collection which is both pretty and practical- whether you spend your
working day behind a typewriter or not. Signature details, such as
angular collars, flared skirts and pretty prints were presented
alongside a bounty of super covetable accessories, including structured
handbags and patent T-bar pumps, capturing a retro feel whilst
simultaneously feeling extremely accessible. By constructing such a
creative, seamless and memorable presentation, Orla Kiely's collection
for AW13 stands out as one of the most covetable seen at London Fashion
Week- I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for my favourite pieces
as next season approaches!

I absolutely loved the whole presentation and collection. I also love how the clothes's functionality is shown. I'm so jealous of everyone who went to see that! X
