11.04.2016- Most Wanted: Cross Body Bags

As I've grown a little bit older and my style has evolved, I've become more and more convinced that practicality is king. Keeping things as hassle free as possible is something which I've touched on in a few previous posts, and a minimal fuss approach is something which tends to dominate my day to day wardrobe decision making. As such, over recent months, I've been shopping around for pieces which are easy to wear and which tick plenty of sartorial boxes too- and top of the pile is the cross body bag:

Fold-Over Leather Crossbody, £125, & Other Stories/Cedar Street Magnolia, £178, Kate Spade/Ruby Across Body Bag, £19, Accessorize/Cress Crossbody Bag, £129, Jigsaw/Jack Wills Northcote Suede Crossbody Bag, £49.50, ASOS/Large Pushlock Bag, £95, The Cambridge Satchel Company/Kin by John Lewis Leather Across Body Bag, £59, John Lewis/Clerkenwell Zip Top Cross Body Bag, £79.50, Radley/Crosby Crossbody, £175, Coach/Suede Rivington Chain Clutch, £80, Whistles/Modalu Imogen Across Body Bag, £129, John Lewis

I've found that investing in accessories is really worthwhile, and this neutral bag from & Other Stories is well and truly worth saving the pennies for. The muted hue makes it the perfect everyday staple and it's one of those instant classics which you'd really struggle to go wrong with. If you're after a pop of bright colour, then look no further than this Kate Spade number- a great option for contrasting with existing wardrobe essentials and for pepping up any transitional sartorial treasures, much like this bold coral number from Accessorize too.

You'd struggle to find more of a classic style than this tan bag from Jigsaw- and I love the touch of the contrasting strap too. Experimenting with texture is a great option for switching up your day to day staples too, and this suede option from Jack Wills is a perfect purchase if you're after something which works as well for the daytime as it does for the evening. Regular readers will no doubt be well aware of my love for the classics on offer from The Cambridge Satchel Company, and this vivid push lock bag has headed to the top of my wishlist in a heartbeat; it's an instant investment which would well and truly pay off in the cost per wear stakes, don't you think?

If you're after something to take you effortlessly from daytime to evening, this metallic design from John Lewis is another wonderful investment buy. I've posted before about my love for my Radley backpack, so it will probably come as no surprise that I'm already eyeing up this pretty pink cross body bag as my next potential purchase- the separate sections are the perfect practical touch too. If you've got a few more hard earned pennies to splurge, then this pastel piece from Coach is a great spring option. For something slightly more compact, this Whistles style is a must-have, particularly if you're seeking a statement piece for the summer (or indeed for your suitcase!) Finally, a classic in the making comes in the shape of this Modalu design- a definite essential for the new season.

Are you a fan of the cross body bag?
