30.03.2018- Most Wanted: Spring at & Other Stories

Now that it’s officially spring (hurrah!), it feels like the perfect opportunity to blow those wardrobe cobwebs away and invest in some new season staples. I’ve been merrily window shopping over the last few weeks, and now that payday has finally rolled around, I’m braced to invest in some new bits and bobs- after a long overdue declutter! It will come as no surprise to regular readers that & Other Stories is my current shopping destination of choice, and their spring styles are well and truly ones to invest in over the next couple of months:

Striped Shirt, £27/Sheer Knit Top, £45/Tie Kneck Blouse, £49/Straight Fit Blazer, £89/Mirrored Round Flame Sunglasses, £23/Stone and Stud Ring, £13/Horsebit Buckle Loafers, £79/Leather Covered Diary, £23/Ribbed V Neck Top, £23/Trio Pocket Crossbody Bag, £89, all & Other Stories

You can never really go wrong with a good quality striped top, and this style is a brilliant staple option, lending itself as well to smart dressing as to casual everyday wear. I’ve already snapped it up in anticipation of my holiday to Northern Ireland towards the end of the summer, and the slightly heavier than usual fabric will make it a great piece for the transition into autumn too. Pastel blue always feels like a shade which is synonymous with the spring, and this sheer knit is a lovely lightweight go-to now that the days are warming up. Layered over a simple vest or tee, it’s a piece which makes a subtle statement and is really versatile.

Another spring staple- florals. Though not particularly *groundbreaking*, they’re a perennial favourite and perfect for those morning when you’re not too sure what to reach for. This printed design is a real winner, with the ruffle collar adding just the perfect touch of whimsy too. If you’re in the market for a new selection of smart styles, then you’d be hard pushed to go wrong with any of & Other Stories’ tailoring. The red jacket caught my eye when I spotted it in the window of the Regent Street store a few weeks ago. It also comes in black too, but I love the bold statement which the red makes- a really vibrant burst of colour, don’t’ you think?

It wouldn’t be the new season without new sunglasses, and, in anticipation of the brighter days, I’ve got my eye on these mirrored beauties. Similarly, these loafers, which have been doing the rounds on Instagram, and are a serious temptation, filling a considerable chasm in the ‘smart shoe’ section of my wardrobe. If you’re planning on making the new season a productive one, then this leather covered diary is a must- perfect for charting those long-awaited summer breaks, and Bank Holidays. A smaller statement comes in the shape of this ring, which I’ve already tried on in store and I’m sure I’ll be snapping up before too long. With more practical purchases in mind, I’m in the market for some new vest tops now that my old favourites have been through the wash more times than I can count, so am ordering a few of these basics for layering under some of my favourite blouses. Finally, a real classic in the making- this black cross body bag, which I think looks a lot more luxe than the price tag would suggest. A brilliant ‘treat yoself’ option!
