02.11.2018- Most Wanted: The Winter Coat Edit

With the almost instant arrival of winter last weekend (hello ten degree overnight temperature drop!), I’m sure that I’m not the only one now eagerly diving into my stash of winter essentials in an attempt to stave off the chill! It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve finally acknowledged that I can’t quite get away with leaving the house without a coat in the mornings now, so as well as having a good old sift through my wardrobe (and a few trips to the dry cleaners to boot!), I’ve also been keeping an eye on which pieces have been hitting the shops recently:

Highlands 3 in 1 Jacket, £295, Sweaty Betty/Belted Wool Coat, £169, & Other Stories/Jersey Wool Coat, £175, Arket/Belted Wool Blend Coat, £169, & Other Stories/Single Breasted Coat, £89, Marks and Spencer

If you’re after something wonderfully warm and practical, then you’d be hard pushed to go wrong with this 3 in 1 jacket from Sweaty Betty. Complete with a fleece lining, it’s one of those sensible spends which I think would really pay off in terms of cost-per-wear value, and anything which promises to keep you cosy even on the darkest, chilliest of mornings is well worth investing in. Speaking of investments, regular perusers of these pages will be well aware that I’m a huge fan of the outerwear from & Other Stories, having snapped up a couple of coats over recent years. Not only are they really well made and expertly finished, but they’re also really timeless pieces- this belted wool design in particular is a piece which you’d get plenty of wear out of year after year.

If you’re looking for a splash of colour to pep up your winter wardrobe, then this Arket number is definitely one for the wishlist, especially given the classic, tailored fit. If, alternatively, you’re in the market for something on the slouchier side, then this camel coat (again from & Other Stories) is one well worth considering, especially if you, like me, always tend to fall hook, line and sinker for anything blanket-like! Finally, another classic in the making, this time in the shape of this subtle navy number from Marks and Spencer, a real hero purchase for the chillier months ahead, and one which is really purse friendly too.

Have you snapped up any new winter staples?
