12.07.2019- What I Wore Today #376

Following on from my last outfit post, here’s more proof that the holiday wardrobe which I packed for my recent trip to Ireland well and truly earned its keep! Packing for a holiday at home means factoring in unpredictable weather to your planning, but I’ve found that opting for practical investment buys is definitely worth it- meaning that I tend to have a steady rotation of staples which I reach for, safe in the knowledge that they work just as well for sunny days as they do for the rain, and for being in the great outdoors. On the penultimate day of our trip, we visited beautiful Donegal and Glenveagh National Park- perfect for putting some of my practical favourites to the test:

Jacket- COS
Tee- Monki
Trousers- Lululemon
Sunglasses- Ganni
Bag- Fjallraven
Shoes- New Balance

As I shared in my last post, this jacket from COS has become a really worthwhile investment and one which I’m really pleased I made- it’s a great, versatile buy which is perfect for layering and unpredictable weather. Here I wore it over a simple statement tee from Monki, which again is really easy to pull on when you’re on the move, and a piece which really makes me smile too. Amping things up in the practical stakes, the On the Fly trousers from Lululemon- I picked up my first pair about a year or so ago and have just snapped up some more as they are so comfortable and an absolute dream for travelling in, as well as being smart enough to wear to work too. Finally, this Fjallraven bag which I picked up for a charity walk a few months ago, but which has slowly become part of my everyday wardrobe- it’s just so much easier and makes me much more mindful of not carrying around lots of unnecessary bits and bobs!

Which practical purchases have you made recently?
