05.08.2019- What I Wore Today #379

Monday, 5 August 2019

As I touched on in the last style shaped post which I published on these pages, over recent months I've been thinking a little bit more consciously about how to switch things up day-to-day, to avoid getting stuck in a little bit of a rut, and also to make the most of the opportunity to style pieces sans coat whilst I can! During the working week, I'd usually tend to live in trousers and basic blouses, but lately I've been gravitating more towards skirts and dresses, particularly with longer lines and in various different colour combinations:

This dress from Monki's range on ASOS is a discovery from a few months ago, and perfectly fills the 'smart, work appropriate' dress void in my wardrobe. I love the slightly longer length and more structured fit, and the pattern is really easy to wear- making it look like you've made much more of an effort than just throwing a frock on. Added bonus- it also has pockets, so is fantastically practical on that score too! I'm loving a lot of Monki's pieces at the moment, and whenever I find myself stuck for something to wear, they always have a selection of solutions on offer, and everything is so so comfortable too- perfect for stress-free styling.

Have you been stepping out of your style comfort zone recently?
