Over the last few months, I've been strategically investing my pennies on some staple pieces which have serious staying power. As I've grown up, I've tended to veer away from a lot of the fast-fashion destinations which I used to frequent as a teenager, and now I'm much more conscious about what (and how frequently) I buy. With the environmental impact of our throwaway culture in no doubt, I've become much more mindful about my shopping habits, choosing now to spend a bit more on well-made pieces which I know will score in the longevity stakes- as well as standing up to repeat wears and washes. Not that that necessarily has to break the bank either- indeed, in the end of summer sales I've been lucky enough to snap up some real bargains:

Tee- Self Care Co. (via Plastic Freedom)
Trousers- Rue de Femme
Sunglasses- Ganni
Shoes- Flossy
I picked these Rue de Femme trousers up in their sale back in July for about half price, after spotting them in a local boutique at the start of the summer. I've been after a pair of pink trews for a while now, and these are fantastic- they fit really nicely, and I love the slightly flared leg. They're also nice and high-waisted, and work really well with lots of my existing wardrobe favourites- including this Be Kind tee from the Self Care Co., which I picked up from the fantastic Plastic Freedom- a one-stop-shop for plenty of plastic-free purchases. They plant a tree for every order placed too- well worth exploring if you're looking to become a bit more conscious in your day-to-day habits.
Are you becoming more mindful of how you shop?
