28.02.2020- On the Menu: Bancone, Covent Garden

Friday, 28 February 2020

If there's one particular foodstuff which I've become absolutely obsessed with over the last few years, it's pasta. I'd even go so far as to say that it's become a borderline religious fixation, but I honestly think that there's nothing better or more comforting than a big plate of freshly prepared carbohydrate shaped goodness. Even better than that, it's one of those food which can be dressed up or down in so many different ways, with so many options in terms of varieties and flavours. A few weeks ago, Hannah and I made a pilgrimage to Bancone for a pre-theatre dinner, and we were not disappointed by their much-hyped menu:

Just a short step over the road from Charing Cross, Bancone Covent Garden is beautifully designed and the perfect destination to visit if you're in the market for a speedy selection of post-work plates, or if you're celebrating something special. Serving a variety of freshly made pasta dishes every day, the restaurant offers a plethora of dishes inspired by each of Italy's 20 regions- so much so that we found it quite tricky to choose what to order! Eventually, we settled on Bucatini cacio and pepe, silk handkerchiefs, and red onion ravioli, along with some focaccia. It was all absolutely delicious- so much so that we reordered! Definitely a restaurant to revisit!
