09.09.2020- What I Wore Today #429

Wednesday, 9 September 2020

Whilst we might be edging towards autumn, I've still got a bit of a backlog of summer style posts to share, which is probably just as well as I'm sure I'll be spending most of my time over the next few months bundled up in lots of warm, cosy layers- as well as items of clothing with elasticated waistbands!  Although I love autumn, I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to resign myself to letting go of the summer just yet- especially after a year which has been like no other in our lifetimes. Whilst we all try and get to grips with what will happen next, for now I'm happy to look back on some snapshots of the summer just gone, including from my trip to Norfolk back in July:

Dress- Caron Callahan (via Tidy Street Store)
Cardigan- Marks & Spencer
Bag- Fjallraven
Sunglasses- Ray-Ban (c/o John Lewis)
Shoes- Adidas

I spied this beautiful Caron Callahan dress on the Tidy Street Store website way back at the start of the year, and remember thinking that it would be perfect for my April trip to Florence. Well- the best laid plans- although the holiday was postponed, hanging on that little bit longer for the frock meant that it was reduced in the sale- result! I adore the style of this dress and it's really beautifully made too- definitely a purchase built to last. As well as being the perfect, timeless summer print, it's lovely lightweight cotton, which makes it ideal for warmer weather. As we weren't quite in heatwave territory when these snaps were taken, I layered up with an old favourite in the shape of this cardigan from M&S- a piece which always seems to be stashed in my suitcase when I go away!

Are you sad about saying goodbye to the summer?
