02.10.2020- Beauty Buys: Everyday Essentials

I'm sure I'm not alone in having slightly overhauled my day-to-day beauty routine over the last six months or so. Without a regular commute, my skin has had a total break from wearing makeup every day (which has done it the world of good), and as a rule I've been using far fewer products. Not only has this helped me to use up lots of half-empty bottles, but it's also really allowed me to refine a handful of favourites- those everyday essentials which have become real staples and are now a regular part of my (pared-down!) routine:

I've been using Aesop's Calming Shampoo for a few months now, and it's definitely a real hero product of mine. I tend to struggle with a slightly irritable scalp, so this soothing formulation of sage leaf, chamomile flower and lemon balm has worked wonders, and has left my hair feeling really light and clean. The Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm is a total favourite too, and has been something which I've been reaching for a fair few times a week since lockdown began, particularly as it's super gentle and leaves my skin feeling really refreshed. Aveeno's Daily Moisturising Lotion has been a real discovery for me over recent months too, and it's a brilliant, lightweight cream which has definitely helped me to feel a lot less dried out- particularly over the summer months.

Glossier's Invisible Shield is one of the only everyday skincare essentials which I use these days- as I've posted about before it's brilliant as it's non-greasy and a little goes a long way. Finally, another new favourite in the shape of Simple's Hydrating Gel Cream which I've been using once a day over the last two months or so. So far, so good- it's been really great at keeping my skin looking and feeling fresh, even when I've been mentally completely the opposite!
