If you popped along to the V&A's British Ballgowns exhibition last year, then the chances are you'll have found yourself
wanting to try on a fair few of the beautiful dresses on display. Whilst
this might have proved impossible at the time, Coast's new
collaboration with the V&A's Fashion Archive means it now couldn't
be easier to capture a slice of the classic, sophisticated style showcased during the course of the exhibition. Taking inspiration from
hundreds of designs from the museum's archive, each of the six dresses which
comprise the V&A Ballgowns collection captures a sense of timeless
elegance, nodding to the trends and silhouettes of the past whilst
retaining a distinct contemporary edge. These are occasion pieces which have been
beautifully designed and created- worthy of any special party, red
carpet, or perhaps even a fairytale ball...

I love how the inspiration behind the collection has become so clear in the finished pieces, and I'm already planning a trip to my local Coast to try on some of my favourites- the Cecily Maxi Dress in particular is just beautiful. Definitely a range to keep an eye out for if you've got anything special planned over the summer!
What do you think of this collection? And which dress is your favourite?
