A little while ago, I was lucky enough to be invited along to Next's AW13 press day, to have a look at their new season fashion and interior collections. Next events are amongst some of my favourites to visit (keep your eyes peeled for a post about their amazing Christmas catwalk show coming soon!) and it's always great to catch up with their press team and friends whilst perusing their latest pieces. Having met up with the lovely Elodie, we made our way to The Vinyl Factory, tucked away just off of Carnaby Street, where we were treated to a sneak preview of what's to come for next season:

For womenswear, Next have well and truly embraced the
heavy duty aesthetic- think punk inspired buckle details, hardware and
an abundance of atmospheric shades and you're there. Wardrobe staples
such as knitwear and denim are imbued with a real rock and roll
sensibility thanks to embellishments, statement accessories and
androgynous shapes, evoking a grunge feel which is well and truly
wearable. Moving across the collection, a heritage feel comes to the
fore through tartans, checks and tweeds- perfect for keeping cosy as the
weather cools down. For me the real stars of the collection are the
tailored pieces, the splashes of monochrome, as well as the footwear and handbags- suffice it to say that
I'm already making space in my wardrobe for my favourites.

As ever,
Next's new season homeware is super-covetable. Encompassing statement
details and stylish accent pieces, their vision of autumnal interiors is
cosy, comfortable and practical, with a real 'outdoor-indoor' feel
thanks to floral motifs, woodland hues and a real variety of textures.
My highlights were the cake stand (of course!), and the gorgeous
statement lampshades- ideal for adding a bold finishing touch to a recently decorated space or for instantly lifting any room in the
house.
What do you think of the Next AW13 collections?
I love Next home stuff, can't wait to move into my new flat so I can go on a spree! I love those pinky loafer shoes too! xxx
