21.10.2019- Most Wanted: & Other Stories Autumn Essentials

Now that autumn is here proper, complete with unpredictable weather and the prospect of the clocks going back this Sunday, I’ve got my eyes peeled for some new season styles to see me through the next few months. Nothing too substantial or anything which will break the bank, but lovely little investments which will make dressing for the chiller weather a tiny bit more motivating. It’ll probably come as no great surprise to regular perusers of these pages that a host of the autumn favourites which I’ve got my pennies primed for are from & Other Stories:

Oversized Merino Wool Blend Sweater, £79/Watercolour Knot Belted Midi Dress, £85/Floral V-Neck Ruffle Midi Dress, £120/Alpaca Blend Relaxed Sweater, £75/Oversized Belted Wool Coat, £175/Hammered Pendant Chain Necklace, £23/Square Crown Signet Ring, £17/Pearl 'Love' Pendant Hairpin, £11/Eye Colour Cream in Sienna Stardust, £13, all & Other Stories

One way of keeping hold of a touch of spring sensibility as we transition into winter is with pastel hues, and this pale blue jumper is absolutely ideal for punctuating any cold weather wardrobe with some much needed colour. I’m a big fan of the knitwear from & Other Stories- each piece I’ve picked up from there in the past has held up really well in the wash and they tend to keep their shape really well too. After arriving home from sunny Dubrovnik about a week and a half ago, pulling on my 100 denier tights to ward off the cold has been something of a culture shock, but they are essential in making some of my spring and summer dresses work for the chillier months. This watercolour print midi dress is a great buy for this time of the year, and I love the slightly more structured shape too. Similarly, this floral ruffle midi dress is perfect for the new season, and the ideal versatile staple for dressing up or down- I love the green florals too!

Another perfect pastel is this relaxed sweater in the dreamiest shade of mint green, an essential which would be ideal for pairing with jeans, a printed skirt or a smarter pair of trousers for your work wardrobe. Every winter wardrobe needs a staple coat, and this navy blue design is an ideal timeless investment, with the belt adding plenty of styling potential too. Accessories are always a wonderful way of pepping up your staple pieces from season to season, and this pendant chain necklace and signet ring are ideal pieces to treat yourself too if you’re after a style update which won’t break the bank. This hairpin is also a great buy, a lovely mood booster when the days are darker and energy levels are low! Finally, a fresh makeup addition in the shape of this colour cream, which I’m really intrigued to try out.

Have you picked up any new season staples recently?
