18.11.2019- Beauty Buys: Winter Wonders

I don't quite know why, but it always surprises me just how much the sudden onset of the cold at this time of the year hits me like a ton of bricks- you'd have thought that I'd be well used to it by now! At the end of last week I made it along to the doctors to get to the bottom of a nasty cough which has been lingering for a little bit too long- needless to say that I've got the super-seasonal-special combination of a sinus and chest infection, so am armed with some steroid spray and antibiotics to tackle it! As well as the medicine, I've also been making more of a concerted effort to look after myself a little bit better, with a much-needed dose of early nights and some duvet days. I've also been reaching for a handful of essentials from my seasonal beauty stash, all of which have been working wonders in helping me to feel that little bit better:

Ren's Atlantic Sea Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash is a relatively recent addition to my stash of essentials, and it's an investment which I'm really pleased I made. As well as being really refreshing, I've found that treating myself to a bath rather than a shower a few times a week has done wonders for helping me calm down and relax at the end of the day. Even better, it's presented in a bottle made from 100% recycled plastic, a fifth of which has been reclaimed from the oceans- a purchase well worth making for that reason alone. Next up, Drunk Elephant's B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum, which is the dream ticket for beating the dullness which the winter always seems to bring with it. I've been using it after cleansing and toning in the evening, and it's definitely helping to keep my skin feeling healthy. Finally, for weekly use when my skin needs a bit more of an intensive boost, a product which I return to time and time again- Glossier's Moisturising Moon Mask- a real seasonal hero if ever there was one.

What are your winter beauty heroes?
