20.12.2019- What I Wore Today #395

I don’t know about you, but I’m always surprised at just how many old wardrobe favourites I tend to dig out at this time of the year. There’s something really lovely about remembering old staples, particularly pieces which you’ve had for years and which still stand up to repeat wear. It’s also proof positive that my personal style hasn’t evolved that much that I’m still reaching for items which I purchased in 2011, but that’s the kind of long-lasting wardrobe game I think we all need to be a little bit more mindful of as we head into another year surrounded by questions about the impact of fast fashion on the planet:

Jumper- River Island
Trousers- Baum und Pferdgarten
Sunglasses- And Other Stories
Bag- Fjallraven
Shoes- New Balance

I’ve had this jumper from River Island since I worked there back when I was a student, and it’s been a firm friend every winter since. Not only is it wonderfully warn and cosy, but it’s also a lovely colour, and a great basic for using as the foundation for lots of winter looks- whether that’s layered over a dress or skirt, or with trousers. Here (surprise surprise!), I reached once again for my Baum und Pferdgartden trousers- one of the best investments of the year without question, and another staple which I can’t wait to style for the spring and into the summer too.

Have you been revisiting any old wardrobe favourites recently?
