17.02.2020- A Spring Wishlist

Now that spring is (sort of!) in the air, I’m sure that I’m not the only one eagerly looking around at all of the new arrivals in the shops with a face like the heart emoji. There’s something about spring which I just love- it’s my favourite season, and I’m always surprised at how inspiring it is to see everything bursting back into life after the cold and dark weeks of winter. As well as providing me with some much needed ‘life in general’ motivation, it’s also inspired me to spruce up my wardrobe with some seasonal slow fashion staples:
Smocked Dress, £95, & Other Stories/Oversized Beige Trench, £175, Arket/Flower Berry Print Silk Top, £159, Whistles/Molly Pink Ditsy Print Dress, £145, Kitri/Sweatshirt in Frosty Lilac, £85, Stalf/Vieux Rose Nail Polish, £8, & Other Stories/Taupe Mini Bucket Bag, £79, Whistles/Veja V-10 Trainers, £115, Arket

Over the last few months (in fact, more or less after I finished watching Little Women at the cinema!), my love for midi and maxi dresses was reignited. This green number from & Other Stories is the sister design to the black version which I already own, and I’m sure it won’t be long before I snap this one up too- it’s just perfect for this time of year and I can see it making a lovely staple for the summer too. A trench coat is always a great shout for the spring, and this style from Arket is an absolute dream. I love the slightly looser fit too- perfect for a casual, Scandi-inspired day-to-day look, and ideal for the weekends too.

In a season which also owes a lot to the sumptuous aesthetic of Autumn de Wilde’s Emma (heaven!), my love for ruffled necks and frilled sleeves has never been stronger. This silk blouse from Whistles is an absolutely perfect ode to the style of the film, and a wonderful addition to any spring wardrobe. Similarly, this Kitri dress is a beauty which Emma Woodhouse would be proud of, and also a wonderful investment purchase to make now if you’ve got any weddings in the diary for the rest of the year.

On a slightly more cosy note, this lovely Stalf sweatshirt is a great staple to invest in if you’re looking to up your casual wear game, and in the ideal spring shade too. Another spring shade comes in the shape of this & Other Stories nail polish, which is a great nod to spring without breaking the bank. If you’re in the market for some serious investment buys to see you through the rest of the year, then look no further than this Whistles bucket bag (which I’m seriously thinking of snapping up for the weddings I’m attending later in the year), and these beautiful Veja trainers from Arket- the rose gold detail is just lovely!

Which spring staples are you looking to add to your wardrobe?
