13.07.2020- Socially Distanced Diaries: Knole Park, Kent

Another installment of my socially distanced diaries! It seems strange that these little outdoor get-togethers with friends- something which I used to take so much for granted- are now the things which I look forward to so much, and indeed the things which serve to punctuate the 'every day feels the same' feeling which has become so much a part of life in lockdown. Last month saw a long-anticipated reunion in Kent- giving us all a chance to catch up in the glorious surroundings of Knole Park:

Knole Park is fondly known as Deer Park, and, upon visiting, it's easy to see why. It's home to a herd of 350 wild fallow and sika deer, and they've definitely lucked out with being able to call such a glorious corner of the Kent countryside home. This visit was all the more special as it was in the company of my lovely friends Ruth, Sophie, Lucy and Camilla- who has not long been back from a fantastic adventure cycling to Ushuaia- the southernmost tip of South America! Catching up with these brilliant ladies on a gloriously sunny Saturday has definitely been a highlight of the last few months for me, and I can't describe how lovely it was to chat face to face rather than via the prism of a laptop screen or phone. Here's to many more meetings soon- and fingers crossed it won't be too long before we can get back and explore the stunning house too!

Have you been able to catch up with your friends lately?
