04.11.2020- What I Wore Today #437

In the words of the Backstreet Boys...oh my god, we're back again. Back, that is, in lockdown as of tomorrow. It feels like this was almost inevitable, but it's heartbreaking to see so many small businesses and industries having to close down again, especially as many of them were just starting to get back up on their feet again. I'm trying to keep as optimistic as possible about Lockdown 2.0- especially as it's due to end on my birthday- but the realistic side of my brain is winning out at the moment and expecting the worst. Ugh. 2020. Even thinking about when these photos were taken back in the summer feels like a lifetime ago, but I guess that's the nature of these very strange times which we're living through right now:

Tee- Uniqlo
Skirt- Lily and Lionel
Sunglasses- & Other Stories
Shoes- Marks and Spencer

This is a combination which I put together back in August (ironically enough on one of the hottest days of the year), when I was in town to collect my belongings from the office and clear out my desk. Riding the redundancy rollercoaster is brutal, and I've got no doubt that so many people are in the same boat just now. Solidarity and strength all round. I picked up this glorious floral skirt from Lily and Lionel last summer, oddly enough in anticipation of some of the weddings which I had in my diary this year (life, oh life) but it's definitely come into its own as a summer staple too. Here I teamed it with a basic black tee from Uniqlo and sandals from Marks and Spencer which, try as I might, I just can't seem to make work as part of my winter wardrobe!

Are you reminiscing about the summer?
