15.01.2021- Beauty Buys: A Skincare Update

It's been a little while since I posted about anything beauty based on these pages, and to be honest I'm sure that's because it's been an absolute eternity since I reached for my makeup bag, let alone invested in anything new in terms of cosmetics. I think the last time that I came within anything like close proximity to makeup was when I popped a smidge of red lipstick on for a pre-Christmas Zoom, although I have been contemplating whether popping a bit of colour on my face every day would help to pep me up a little bit- watch this space on that score! What I have been expending a little bit more energy on, however, is skincare. I always tend to invest a little bit more time and effort on my skin during the winter months anyway, but with the luxury of being at home I've been deploying some new favourite products to help my face feel that little bit fresher:

Towards the end of last year, I treated myself to some Elemis products on Black Friday- favourites which I'd tried in mini form and loved so was very happy to be able to snap up with a little bit of a discount. The Pro-Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm is one of my favourite skincare discoveries of recent years, and using it has definitely improved my skin a thousand-fold. I tend to reach for this a few times a week, slathering a small spatula full over my face before hopping into the shower in the evening. Heaven. Another Pro-Collagen favourite is the incredible Marine Cream, which I absolutely adore. It's without question the ideal moisturiser for this time of the year as it's lovely and thick without being too heavy and feels very nourishing- and is just lovely to begin and end the day with. Next up, the Pai Rosehip Facial Oil which is another fairly recent discovery, and again is another brilliant boon to any winter skincare routine. Finally- more water! Since being at home a lot more, I've been super conscious of upping my daily intake of water and it's definitely made a real difference to how my skin looks and feels- sometimes it's the simple things, hey?!

Have you discovered any new skincare favourites recently?
